Hello from Lydo
The team workspace for everyone Slack made too expensive and Teams made too complicated. Here's what we're building, and why.
We started Lydo because the team chat market priced out the people who would benefit most from it. A four-person design studio. A seven-person restaurant. A volunteer-run community group. A family running a small property-management business out of three different time zones.
Slack costs $15 per seat. Teams ships with Office and feels like it. Discord was built for gamers, and WhatsApp lives on someone’s personal phone.
The eighty percent of teams who aren’t a Series-B startup deserve a workspace too.
What’s in a Space
A Lydo Space is one workspace with chat, voice rooms, video, a wiki, notes, an action board, a calendar, and a built-in agent named Joby that already knows your team. One price. Your team joins free.
We charge per Space, not per seat — because per-seat pricing punishes you for inviting the right people.
Why an agent already in the room
Most teams have a chat app. A doc tool. A task tracker. And an AI that doesn’t know any of it.
Joby reads what your team writes. Asks “what did we decide about the launch?” and gets cited answers. Pulls action items out of conversations onto your board. Reminds you before meetings what you said you’d do.
We’re not bolting an LLM onto chat. We’re building a teammate that’s already in the room.
What’s next
Mobile and web ship together — same features, same day. Confidential messages, transcripts, broadcast video, the Skills marketplace for connecting Joby to Notion, Linear, GitHub. We’ll write here when something matters.
If you want to follow along, open a free Space and bring your team.
